Bringing Presence and Purpose to Families

​I’m Jen Murphy—a Mental Health Therapist, Family, Parent & Young Adult Coach. For over 25 years, I’ve supported families across a wide range of settings, including wilderness therapy, residential treatment, private practice, and transitional programming, while also serving as an Adjunct Professor in the Social Sciences.

I developed two nationally recognized transition and parent support programs that continue to operate today and co-created the H.O.M.E. parenting model, co-authoring H.O.M.E.: Strategies for Making Home a Success During and After Treatment.

Today, my work, offered virtually and through in-person intensives, focuses on helping those seeking change to interrupt old patterns, build new skills, and move toward healthier dynamics. While coaching is distinct from therapy, my clinical background informs everything I do, giving me a dual perspective that allows for a fully integrated approach. My style is compassionate, curious, and direct—with humor, energy, and a passion for teaching.

Families often tell me I have a gift for quickly spotting patterns and uncovering both challenges and strengths. With decades of experience, I bring practical, structured methods that lead to measurable results. Each coaching process has a clear beginning and end, providing individuals and families with direction, momentum, and improved communication, while equipping them with tools to sustain lasting change.

Outcomes are at the heart of my work, and every process is grounded in recovery, repair, and the strengthening of relationships. It is an honor and a privilege to work with families in Family Intensives. Witnessing their courage, commitment, and openness as they embrace growth and deepen connection is both inspiring and humbling. I am grateful for the trust families place in me and remain dedicated to supporting their growth, fostering meaningful connection, and facilitating lasting, positive change.
